Welcome to ConnectUp. ConnectUp is an online platform designed to help people with disability and their carers to connect with their peers in their community, develop social connections and increase opportunities for physical and recreational activities. At ConnectUp, your safety and privacy are a top priority. Our Privacy Policy explains how ConnectUp collects, uses, and discloses information about you.
Collection of information
ConnectUp will only collect information that you choose to directly provide to us. For example, we collect information that you provide when you create your account, submit your preferences on who you would like to connect with, such as gender or connecting with people with disability or carers as well as location radius that you are willing to travel when meeting others.
Use of information
We use information about you to operate, promote and protect ConnectUp and our platform as well as to communicate with you and personalise content to ensure the platform is as accessible and inclusive as possible for all our users.
Sharing of information
At ConnectUp, we value your privacy, your personal information will not be shared outside of the platform or with other users unless you share information directly yourself. We share some of the information we collect within the platform by displaying it on your member profile and account settings. Some information, such as your username, is always public to those who share similar interests, and the platform has connected you to potentially engage with.
Additional details
ConnectUp is currently only based in Western Australia and only users residing in the same state will be able to create a user profile and store their information. This may change as our platform expands and we will keep you up to date with any changes that occur. Staff operating the ConnectUp platform have implemented technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information. We cannot guarantee these controls will provide absolute security and we encourage our users to be mindful of the information they share with others to protect their own safety and privacy.
We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. If this occurs, we will provide notice to you by publishing the most current version and revising the date at the top of this page.
